We are also both the youngest children in our families and I think that makes a difference because we have been raised to take care of our parents. Whenever they need something, Ty and I are the ones they call. The scary thing is, I think we like it. :) When we lived in Logan it was pretty much the same as when we both lived at home with them. Now that we live in Salt Lake, it is a little harder. We laugh about the funny technological problems our parents have (and about how even when we try to explain it to them over the phone, they still get mad at us) and about how when they leave town now, we aren't around to water their plants or take care of their dog - and it just puts them out so much that they have to find someone to do it.
But as this past weekend passed and my parents went to Denver and they needed a dog sitter (I offered but the dog needs "room to run") I find that I miss being able to help them out at a moments notice. I think that what gets us the most is that they are surviving without our help and it's sad that they end up not needing us as much as we thought they did. :)
Have you ever seen the Toyota Venza commercials? If you haven't, you have got to look them up. Click here to check one out. We laugh so hard at all of these commercials each time they come on because they show how much children (even the grown up ones) need their parents - Ty and I included.
Most of all, we just LOVE our parents. And at the end of the day, they have given us everything we have ever had and we owe them everything so we like to be able to help them out when we can.
Parents are the best and we miss ours.
love,
cam & ty
