My sweet husband and I have been busy at work, and I at school and have barely had a moment to stop and realize how lucky we truly are. But tonight, we have stopped and are taking it all in. We were able to enjoy where we live by taking a walk in the brisk night to Borders for some cider and a steamer & sat to read some magazines that we don't get to read very often (I love Travel magazines and Tyler was, of course, enthralled in the sports section). On our way home we took notice of how naturally beautiful Cache Valley is, although it is currently taken over by the inversion. The hardest part about our walk home was walking past our neighbor's new car--a 2011 Grand Jeep Cherokee--which we both covet very much, but we realized we needed to take a step back and address how great both of our cars really are. :)
In early January my adorable nephew, Mason, now 4 years old, hit his 3 year mark for being in remission from cancer-what an amazing feat. He is the miracle in my family and we cannot imagine our lives without him. I never imagined that a 4 year old could influence so many lives on so many different levels, but he has done it and in amazing form at that. We recently sent him a card in the mail with a short note and 10 one dollar bills for him to put in his piggy bank. When he called to thank me for the gift, he informed me that he could not keep all of the money because he needed to 'give one dollar back to Jesus'. His mom then informed me that he told her that all by himself. He is so smart and has taught me so much about life.
Tyler has been busy applying for law schools and we cannot help but be so grateful for the people in our lives that are helping him get everything done that he needs to. We continue to learn how generous people truly are, and it gives me hope to know that there are such good people in the world.
