dearest salt lake city,
my husband and i have just moved into your fast-pased, bright lighted presence. we come from a smaller town where the traffic is much slower but just as condensed, people go to bed earlier than 4am on weeknights, and where we did not hear trains at every hour of the day. i have lived here before when i was younger and i am so glad to be back for this phase of life. this is my husbands first time here and he is overwhelmed. one day he told me he was getting car sick from the cars flying by us so quickly and in so many lanes of traffic-following his sudden illness we had to go home. he loves our location though and our living quarters. our new apartment is in a great location-downtown, near the outdoor mall, near so many delicious restaurants (where we come from doesn't have nearly as many options), our bank is within walking distance, the grocery store is quite close, and the freeway which we will take to visit our family and friends is right around the corner. we are so lucky to be here. my husband will begin law school here. i will begin a new job (i just got a job offer at the St. Regis Remede Spa in Deer Valley-i think i will take it). we will spend at least the next three years here and are so excited to be in this part of our adventure together. we will miss our family but we are not too far so we might go away to visit on the weekends. we will make new friends here and have our lifers (friends that we have had our whole lives) come visit us here. we are hoping to have an enjoyable time here so please be good to us. we think we are going to love it here.
